In order to extend its know-how as a textile manufacturer, the CEPOVETT Group - Epsilon workshop in Madagascar is striving to develop expertise in the manufacturing of technical parkas, a key component with high added value in the workwear collection. Significant technical and human investment was required in 2018 for these products, as they have many technical specificities in terms of protection, waterproofing, comfort and ergonomics for intensive use.
Eight production lines have been set up, and eventually a 300-strong team will be dedicated to this activity. Seam sealing machines (TAPE), certified by the major fabric manufacturers, were required for the workshops, as well as training for the teams which would be working with these advanced tools. This new parka activity has opened up new perspectives for Epsilon. In 2020, the company plans to push the technology even further by integrating ultrasonic welding.
