CEPOVETT accelerates its recycling program

RECOVER™, producer of high-quality, low-impact recycled cotton fibers
12 March 2026CEPOVETT relies on alternative raw materials such as flax, hemp, wood-based Tencel viscose, and, in the future, perhaps even paper or cellulose to replace cotton. Today, CEPOVETT combines flax with recycled R-PET to design standardized textiles that meet PPE requirements. An ancient fiber grown in France, flax is distinguished by its low water consumption, absence of pesticides, ability to absorb moisture and preserve soil, while offering high resistance and a reduced carbon footprint. The cultivation and processing of flax fiber in France, the world’s leading producer, promotes local expertise, particularly through traditional ground retting. The SNCF, which has replaced cotton with flax in its employees’ PPE, has led the way. The result of five years of research and development, this initiative involves nearly 280,000 garments per year, demonstrating CEPOVETT’s ability to meet the challenges of decarbonization and water footprint reduction. This breakthrough innovation is set to change scale by extending to all of the group’s brand collections.
